SPICY BREAD UPMA is a very delicious South Indian recipe. It is very easy to make at home. It is a simple yet tasty snack recipe which you can also serve as breakfast. You can make this within 10 minutes when you feel like not doing much cooking but you want something tasty to have then it is a perfect recipe to try. You don't have to spend lot of time to make this. In this recipe I used white bread but you can use brown bread , multi grain bread. For the SPICY BREAD UPMA the bread cut into small pieces and then cooked along with a masala made of onion, tomatoes, ginger, capsicum, curry leaves, mastered seeds with some freshly chopped coriander leaves and a dash of lemon juice. The lemon juice gives this recipe a tangy taste. It is a very healthy yet yummy recipe to try.

INGREDIENTS:

(1) 5 Bread Slices ( White or Brown ), (2) 1 Small Sized Onion Finely Chopped, (3) 1 Medium Sized Tomato Finely Chopped, (4) 1/2 Capsicum Finely Chopped, (5) 1 Tbsp Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves, (6) 2 Slit Green Chilli, (7) 1 Inch Ginger Finely Chopped, (8) 1/2 Tsp Mastered Seeds, (9) Few Curry Leaves, (10) 1/2 Tsp Red Chilli Powder, (11) 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder, (12) Salt to taste, (13) Sugar as per taste, (14) Lemon Juice, (15) Oil.

Making time of SPICY BREAD UPMA:
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes.
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes.
Total Time: 20 Minutes.

Step by step making process of SPICY BREAD UPMA:
(1) Cut the bread slices into small pieces and keep a side.


(2) Heat some oil in a pan add the mustered seeds, curry leaves, slit green chillies and sauté. 


(3) Add the chopped onion and sauté.


(4) Add the chopped ginger and sauté for a minute.


(5) Add the capsicum and fry and do not over cook.


(6) Add the chopped tomato and sauté it till it become mushy.


(7) Now add some salt to taste, sugar, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and sauté well.


(8) Add little bit of water and fry.


(9) Now add a dash of lemon juice and give it a mix.


(10) Then add the bread pieces and mix it nicely. 


(11) Add some freshly chopped coriander leaves and give it a mix.


(12) Now your SPICY BREAD UPMA is ready to serve.
